Crown Food Europe opens new manufacturing plant in Hungary

Crown Food Europe has opened a new manufacturing facility in Nagykörös, Hungary, to serve vegetable brands across Europe. The facility features two production lines that manufacture 65mm and 73mm diameter cans.

Among other things, the new lines are suitable for vegetables and ready meals. According to Crown, the new facility operates in compliance with the firm’s quality standards and meets customers’ needs at every level.

Foodproducts.packaging-business-review.com quoted Crown Food Europe senior marketing and communication manager Laetitia Durafour as saying: “European canned food volume growth is largely driven by the Eastern countries, while production in the Western region has remained relatively level.”

“This growth is generated by developing regions in Eastern Europe, where preserved foods are popular and metal cans remain the preferred packaging type in terms of product preservation, presentation and added value. Creating a dual line facility in Eastern Europe highlights Crown’s long-term commitment to the region, while also ensuring easy-to-open cans are available to its customers across the continent via a well-established distribution network.”
