The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced that, starting from 17 July, restrictions would apply to the supply of fruits and vegetables from Madagascar. Products from this country can now only be granted access when imported directly through border checkpoints.
As explained by the department, Madagascar has also been asked for information regarding the volume produced and supplied to the countries of the European Union and the EAEC. Deliveries through Belarus will thus be banned, as the products are allegedly delivered in complex ways through the European Union.
