Thanks to good weather conditions, despite a decrease in endive acreage, production is expected to increase. According to Agreste, acreage is expected to have decreased by 2% over the year for the 2017-2018 season (for both curly and escarole endives), however production is to increase by 4%. The increase has yet to effect prices which remain 10% above the five year average and are 13% above those recorded in May 2016.
