Russia: Hotline to report poor quality fruit and veg

From 24 May to 23 June, the Russian region of Irkutsk is having a month devoted to the quality and safety of early vegetables and fruits, as reported by the press service of the government of the region. The main goal of the month is to prevent the sale of substandard products.

Within the framework of the month, there will be a hotline allowing residents of the region to report the sale of poor-quality early vegetables and fruits. The number (within Russia) is 8 (3952) 24-38-14 and will be available on weekdays from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.

Consumers can call the hotline to report spoiled or rotten fruits and vegetables, as well as to denounce a lack of information about the producer and/or quality certificates of the products. Consumers are also encouraged to report unauthorised traders.
