The Organizing Committee of FRUIT ATTRACTION has confirmed the excellent prospects for participation of the ninth edition of the fair, which will be held from 18 to 20 October.
The FRUIT ATTRACTION Organizing and Advisory Committee met this week in Madrid with the goal of studying the developments planned for the ninth edition, the parallel activities, as well as the status of the project, noting the excellent prospects for participation, as with still six months before the event is held, the number of companies that have applied to be exhibitors so far is already the same as at the close of last year's edition.
The organizers of FRUIT ATTRACTION: IFEMA and FEPEX, expect the final number of exhibitors of the next edition to be 20% higher than in 2016, reaching 1,500 companies, which will be distributed in Halls 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
The Committee was informed of new features of this edition, including three new exhibition areas: The Nuts Hub, devoted to nuts; the Smart Agro area, devoted to technology, innovation and knowledge, which will serve to showcase tools for a more efficient production, and the Seed Planet area, intended for the presentation of innovations in seeds and plant varieties. Moreover, and continuing the trends set in previous editions, the Fair will give a boost to the ORGANIC HUB area, devoted to companies involved in the organic horticultural sector, which is recording a growing demand in the international market.
This year, FRUIT ATTRACION 2017 will also be creating the LANZADERA Program, a new exhibition space in "ready2exhibit" format, with 6 m2 surfaces at a very affordable price. The idea is to give visibility to new companies created in the last 2 years and thus promote entrepreneurship, new horticultural companies and young entrepreneurs. A 12,000 Euro prize is also planned to be awarded to the best project.
The meeting also served to discuss the initial program of parallel activities, including the 6th International Postharvest Unlimited Conference. A novelty this year is the inclusion of the space Fresh`n Star, which will feature the entire directory of companies, conferences and product exhibitions related to the two protagonists of this year's edition: lettuce and pomegranate.
Regarding the International Guests Program, which is one of the most appreciated commercial tools among the exhibitors, a total of 800 professionals from the purchasing and distribution chain of more than 50 countries will be invited this year; professionals with a high decision-making power in their companies and with the capacity to negotiate deals. In this context, there will be Guest Importing Countries; a role given to Brazil and China this year, with the objective of developing institutional, market and commercial actions during FRUIT ATTRACTION, favouring the growth and development of commercial relations with these two countries.
