Turkish fruit and vegetable exports rose by 46% in January

Turkey had a good month of exports in January with a total increase by 15 percent, which is the highest growth rate over the past 49 months, says a report by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly. Fresh fruits and vegetables alone increased by 46% and the country exported goods worth $10.5 billion in January 2017.



In January 2017, Turkish exports to Russia amounted to $105 million, which is 57 percent more than in January 2016. The report says $27 million of the total amount of Turkey’s exports to Russia in January 2017 were of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The volume of Turkey’s foreign trade amounted to $341.2 billion in 2016, which is 2.8 percent less than in 2015, said the report of the Turkish Statistical Institute.
