Central and Eastern Europe are organised in an association that has the ability to export agricultural produce. "However, given that Bulgaria and Macedonia are neighbouring countries, we want to make sure that it is easier to get access to this market by uniting our efforts," he stated.
Minister Tsvetkov thinks that both sides will find it difficult to export fresh fruits and vegetables to China because of the long distances. "Macedonia is ready to export canned fruits and vegetables, canned meat products and wines. Our country has wonderful wines," he assured, adding that Bulgaria could also export such agricultural products to this vast market.
Besides addressing other important issues, such as the fight against specific diseases, the two ministers talked about the Bulgarian experience in agriculture after the country's accession to the European Union. "Macedonia, which is a candidate for EU membership, will benefit from this experience and will organise its farms to make them capable of meeting the European standards," concluded Minister Tsvetkov.
