Peru: President's visit to China will boost exports

According to the the Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex), Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s official visit to the People’s Republic of China will boost Peruvian exports into that country in the medium term, since it will build bridges between both countries and lift barriers for food shipments.

President Kuczynski has headed to China, where he is expected to take part in a series of activities, joined by ministers, representatives of agencies and businessmen.

The manager of Economic Studies at ADEX, Carlos Gonzalez, said the presidential visit also strengthens trade links between Peru and China.

He told Andina news agency that stronger ties with the Asian giant will result in the approval of sanitary and phytosanitary agreements and, therefore, in the entry of food products.

Non-traditional agricultural and fishery exports should experience the highest growth.
