Afghanistan's President, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, has said he may close the transit route for Pakistan to Central Asian countries, as the Wagah port has been closed off for Afghan traders' imports and exports.
He said Afghanistan is no longer a landlocked country, as it has several other options and transit routes for the import and export of Afghan traders' commodities.
President Ghani further added that Pakistan usually closes transit routes during the fruit season which incurs millions of dollars of losses to the Afghan traders.
According to the Afghan President, India has agreed to exempt Afghanistan from financial tariffs for the export of fruit to the country.
