Moldova in talks with Russia to resume fruit and veg exports

The Prime Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip, addressed at a meeting with Russian Ambassador, Farit Muhametşin, the possibility of resuming the export of Moldovan fruit and vegetables to the Russian market. According to a press release from the Executive, the two officials discussed bilateral relations and its current developments, noting the potential of Moldovan-Russian cooperation on multiple levels.

Special attention was paid to the topic of resuming exports. In this regard, they mentioned the need for direct talks between institutions in the two countries for the elimination of technical barriers in trade relations. Prime Minister Pavel Filip said Moldova's it is in Moldova's interest to boost economic cooperation and increase trade with the Russian Federation.

During the talks, they also addressed other issues, including labour migration and the need to ensure social protection of Moldovans working in Russia.
