The first domestic cherries have arrived later than a year ago. Prices range between 3 and 4 złoty per kilo. Burlat cherries (red) should arrive in a few days. So far, sellers are offering cherries imported from the Balkans, which taste similar to the national Cordii. The price per kilo in the wholesale ranges from 8 to 10 złoty (packs of 2 and 5 kilos).
Apricots and nectarines have started being imported from Spain. Wholesale prices for these fruits range between 8 and 10 złoty per kilo (apricots), and 5 and 7 złoty per kilo (nectarines).
Watermelons at this time are imported from Italy, Spain and Greece.
The Mediterranean citrus campaign has finished and importers have moved to the Southern Hemisphere, with fruit from South Africa, Chile and Argentina.
Asparagus have become more expensive this week, with a kilo in the wholesale being sold for 16 złoty. There have also been considerable price fluctuations for butterhead lettuce. Several days ago, a box was sold for 15-20 złoty (depending on the size of the heads), but within a few days it has increased to 25-30 zł per box.
Courgettes are sold at a price of 4 złoty/kilo; broccoli costs 3-4 złoty/piece. Also, the price of beans has been reduced by half over the past three weeks and now they cost between 14 and 15 złoty per kilo in the wholesale.
