The entrepreneurs explain that the produce sold by most brands is usually sold by Northern European traders and operators working with producers: "this means it has already spent hours in warehouses before export. In order to avoid this, we work directly with producers."
Endive sold under the Ilfres mark comes exclusively from France. The Italian importer has started a joint venture with a local company. "We have defined the qualitative characteristics of the produce against the high standards required by Italian retailers. This way, our producers managed to obtain excellent produce even during the traditionally most critical weeks."
Usually, clients order "closed" packets which are checked randomly. "They therefore trust us as regards what they'll find once the packet is opened. This is why we pay the maximum attention to quality and to maintaining the cold chain. Logistics also help us shorten times of packaging in France to delivery to the client."
"This year, marketing and communication activities helped us reach important targets and satisfy even the most demanding customers, who may tend to see the French produce as slightly inferior with respect to the Belgian one."
"Together with some retailer clients, we have developed some promotional activities - new consumers/clients tried the product thanks to the lower price and now they have decided to buy it more frequently."
