“My healthy family” campaign kicks off in Poland

The first fruit and vegetable packs given out as part of the campaign "My healthy family" are now available for collection in the Polish cities of Krosno and Jasło. The programme has been funded by the European commission and is intended to promote the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The action had been planned to start in September, but Sylwia Mazur, project coordinator in Subcarpathia, explains that it was delayed due to the huge number of applicants. Four thousand families applied to take part in the programme, while our province could only provide 2,250 places.

The fruits and vegetables given out are all locally produced. The packs will also become available this week in Debica, Mielec, Stalowa Wola and Tarnobrzegu, as well as in 12 other cities. The project is targeted at families with children between the ages of 10 to 15 years, pregnant women and seniors 65+. It is being carried out in the Polish provinces of Subcarpathia and Kuyavia-Pomerania and in two regions in Hungary.
