BJ’s Wholesale offers on-demand rewards

BJ's Wholesale Club launched a new co-branded credit card that gives users on-demand reward redemption at checkout. This is the first card of its kind for the wholesale foods industry.

The My BJ's Perks MasterCard offers enhanced rewards in all areas of the store. Cardholders will save 10 cents per gallon on fuel at BJ's Gas. BJ's has also beefed up its cash back program, offering 5% cash back on all wholesale club purchases, 2% on restaurant purchases and 1% on everything else. Cardholders have the option to redeem awards in $20 increments on the spot when they check out at the wholesale club.

The new rewards card is available to qualifying members of BJ's Perks Rewards, BJ's Business, and BJ's Inner Circle through applications online and in-store.

"One of my favorite program features is our Members' ability to automatically redeem their earnings during checkout," Laura Sen, President and CEO of BJ's Wholesale Club, said in a statement. "They have the choice to build their awards for greater savings off a bigger purchase or they can put them to use during their weekly shop."

Members may also qualify for one of the more enhanced credit cards: BJ's Perk Plus and BJ's Perk Elite. Perks Plus comes with a $50 membership fee and offers 3% cash back for most purchases, while the Perks Elite comes with a $100 fee and offers 5% cash back.

BJ's currently operates 206 wholesale clubs and 119 gas stations in 15 states.
