Open field cucumbers cost an average of 4.5 zł per kilogram (1.07 Euro); about 10 percent less than a year ago. Greenhouse cucumbers are more expensive, with a wholesale price of 6-7 zł per kg (1.42-1.66 Euro). Spanish cucumbers are priced at about 5.5 zł / kg (1.3 Euro).
Imported peppers are available, but more expensive than the domestic. Polish peppers reach 3-4.5 zł per kg (0.71-1.07 Euro), while the imported cost about 5 zł per kg (1.18 Euro). It should, however, be taken into account that colder weather may bring a decline in domestic production and consequently also in supply.
The large cauliflower production has resulted in exceptionally low prices. Prices in Bronisze range from 1-1.5 zł per kilo (0.24-0.35 Euro); 70 percent less than a year ago. In contrast, greenhouse tomatoes in the second half of October have been about 1/3 more expensive than a year ago. A 6 kilo packaging (the most usual) is sold at a price of 20-25 zł (4.74-5.93 Euro). Raspberries cost from 28 zł to 38zł (6.64 to 9.01 Euro) depending on the fruit's size.
Compared with last year, vegetables are much cheaper. Only aubergines are more expensive, with a 25 percent price increase; their wholesale price stands at 5 zł / kg (1.18 Euro). Meanwhile, onion, cabbage and potato prices are low, but remain stable. Onions are sold for approx. 43 cents per kilo (0.10 Euro); cabbage for 5 zł per 20-kilo bag (1.18 Euro) or 1 zł per unit (0.24 Euro); the price of potatoes ranges from 25 to 45 cents per kilogram (0.06 to 0.11 Euro).
Bronisze still has domestic autumn raspberries, as warm weather has extended the season. The current wholesale price is 15-17 zł / kg (3.56-4.03 Euro), and strawberries are available for 9-12 zł / kg (2.13-2.85 Euro).
The most expensive domestic pears cost approximately 3.75 zł / kg (0.89 Euro). Other varieties reach an average of 2.5 zł / kg (0.59 Euro) and are about 1/4 cheaper than a year ago.
There is also a huge supply of apples. Most varieties are sold at a price of 10-15 zł per 15 kg, which is from 0.66 to 1 zł per kilogram (0.16 to 0.24 Euro per kilo). On average, apples are about 30-40 percent cheaper than a year ago.
