Engineer Yousry Abdel-Hamid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in Ismailia, Egypt, said that the export value of agricultural products in the month of September amounted to 21.8 million dollars, with shipments totalling 13,478 tonnes.
According to Abdel-Hamid, the total export value of Ismailia's fruits, vegetables and medicinal and aromatic herbs exported to various Arab and European countries from early January to late September reached 491.8 million dollars, with a total of 667,745 tonnes shipped.
Some of the products exported from Ismailia to Arab states and European countries include peanuts, frozen strawberries and okra, fresh tomatoes, potatoes, onion and pomegranate or sliced mango. Some of the main destinations are Italy, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Tunisia, Turkey, Oman and the UK.
