Romania to import Moldovan fruit and vegetables

Romania's Prime Minister, Victor Ponta, and his Moldovan counterpart, Lurie Leanca, reached an agreement for the import of fresh and canned fruits and vegetables from Moldova in an attempt to mitigate the effects of the Russian Federation's announced restrictions on the import of Moldovan agricultural products.

Victor Ponta announced its readiness to help speed up the process and remove organisational deficiencies, to which end a group of agricultural producers and vegetable exporters is expected to visit Bucharest this week to meet with representatives of companies in Romania to strike partnership deals for the supply and marketing of fruit and vegetables in Moldova.
