Lidl to sell domestic vine tomatoes in Sweden
The competition is fierce though, but Christopher Moller, responsible for the purchase of fruits and vegetables at Lidl Sweden, still hopes that the Swedish consumers will opt for the domestic product. "On the shelves we make a clear distinction between domestic and foreign tomatoes," he says. "We also put in our brochures that both the environment and the Swedish industry will benefit from the sale of local produce."
The tomatoes are grown on the firm of Alfred Peterson in Trelleborg, in collaboration with SydGrönt.
