The brand now also includes stone fruit and melons

Fruit Vandepoel extends 'Lowie' assortment

At the end of June, Fruit Vandepoel introduced its new brand 'De tuin van Lowie' for the products, which are grown in small scale and authentically. "The assortment started with cherries and strawberries, but quickly grew to include other Summer fruits," says owner Wim Vandepoel. "Besides the cherries, the white and yellow peaches and nectarines, as well as the apricots and cavaillons are available under our own brand Lowie. They have excellent flavour. At the moment the products come in once a week. They are left to ripen on the tree and so have the maximum sugar levels."

"With these authentic products we have reached a clientèle that has an eye for prospects and flavour and we find that they come back especially for these fruits. The melons also remain on the tree until they are fully ripe. This means that the flesh is much darker than that of ordinary melons."
