ASOEX:
Meeting with Chinese represenatives to discuss Chilean fruit entry
The representatives of AQSIQ, counterpart of Chile’s SAG, met with the Minister of Agriculture, the General Director of the Agricultural Service and the President of the Association of Exporters of Chilean Fruit, in order to intensify the negotiations aimed at allowing the entry of new fruits into this important Asian market.
“The objective of such meetings is to advance and unify the technical criteria for the entry of new Chilean fruits into the Chinese market, as well as to implement actions focused on facilitating the export process,” explained Ronald Brown.
The Chinese delegation, in addition to the meetings held with the authorities of Minagri, SAG and ASOEX, also visited plantations and packing plants in the area of Requínoa, VI Region, and other facilities of the Chilean production and export chain, as well as a pork meat processing plant.
Bilateral meeting
During these meetings, it was agreed that in order to move forward on the agreements between both nations, a private-public technical mission, formed by representatives of SAG and ASOEX, would meet this month in Beijing with AQSIQ’s professionals to advance on the various technical issues of bilateral interest.
