Theo Douven sees hospitality as a new market for blueberry juice:

"Blueberry juice instead of coffee"

Several years ago, Theo Douven came up with the idea to not only sell fresh blueberries, but also to process them. He wanted to create added value to this healthy berry and began making products like juice, jam, syrup and wine. Today the cultivation of blueberries, but also its artisanal processing, takes place on the lot. The company is fully sustainable and Eco-certified. All fresh and processed products are officially recognized as a Limburg Regional Product and meet the high demands of this label. The processed products are marketed under the brand B-Berry.

Initially Douven focused on the smaller farm shops, delis and shops. "Our customer base is growing in various segments of the market," says Theo. "Today we see a growing demand in the hospitality industry. This year, we were at the Horecava for the first time and have met a lot of new customers. There was a varied audience, from an ice maker to a supplier of alcoholic beverages. This year we certainly expect to attract more customers in hospitality. Here in Horst, where our company is located, many restaurant owners are already convinced. The fun is to convince consumers that having a glass of blue berry juice instead of coffee or a glass of wine is healthy and delicious!"
