Chile: Rain has adverse effect on blueberry exports

Last week's rainfall had a greater than anticipated effect on export volumes of Chilean blueberries. 36 mm of rain were recorded in region VII, whilst region VIII experienced 24mm.

In total 5,401 tons were exported instead of the predicted 6,200. The 6,200 was already an adjusted figure, reflecting harvest delays.

Splitting, mould and overly soft fruit were the result of the adverse conditions.
