Lidl invests €100 million in Greece

Lidl is investing €100 million in its Greek business with plans to open new outlets, renovate existing stores and develop promotions over the next three years.

According to the German retailer, the new plan will benefit 1,500 Greek suppliers. “Despite the current unfavourable market conditions, Lidl Hellas will continue to support the country,” a spokesperson said.

Lidl operates just over 200 stores in Greece at present. It has recently opened a non-food discount store, Mega Bazaar, in Thessaloniki. The store offers leftover stock from Lidl stores’ non-food offers.
