Dubai: SouqExtra signs up Carrefour

SouqExtra!, the national chain of community retail centres, has announced that global retail giant Carrefour will open a Carrefour Market within its upcoming community supercentre in Dubai Silicon Oasis.

SouqExtra! has signed a contract with Carrefour Market to lease 15,800 square feet of anchor store space at the new centre - the 6th SouqExtra! community centre in the UAE and 4th in Dubai.

"We are delighted to welcome Carrefour Market to our growing list of trusted retail partners - now numbering over 110 and set to double by the end of 2013 when a further 4 centres will open for business," said Justin Wilshaw, CEO of SouqExtra!.

Mr. Franck Rouquet , VP Carrefour Market said, "This partnership will allow us to provide residents of Dubai Silicon Oasis with a convenient, value-for-money daily or weekly shopping destination right within the community's retail nerve centre. Residents will now be able to shop a little closer to home, and enjoy exceptional choice, quality and service."

The fastest growing community retail centre business in the UAE, SouqExtra! currently operates 5 centres across three emirates - Dubai (Al Barsha, Al Quoz, and Ewan Residences), Fujairah (Al Mirbah), and Al Ain (Al Batheen). The completion of the 4 new centres - 3 in Dubai and 1 in Ajman - is expected to double SouqExtra!'s Gross Leasable Area and further consolidate its market position in the UAE.
