UK: Waitrose announces early Christmas sales boost

Waitrose announced last week a sales rise of 7.9% as shoppers began to stock up on food goods for Christmas, to spread the costs.

Festive orders through food ordering service ‘Waitrose Entertaining’ rose by more than 41% on the same time last year.

The supermarket says shoppers are opting for less traditional foods in growing numbers this year.
