Norway: Norgesgruppen reports boost in sales and profit

Norgesgruppen, the Norwegian trading and retail group, has reported a first half boost in both revenue and profit. Sales for the first six months of the year rose to NOK29,746 million, an increase of 5.4 per cent with profit before tax soaring 29.7 per cent to NOK1298 million.

The group claims to have a 37.4 per cent market share of its domestic Norwegian market. It has over 1,700 stores across Norway, Denmark and Sweden with retail banners including SPAR, Centra, discounter KIWI and wholesaler ASKO.
