In 2011 APPB exported 89,858,627 boxes of bananas in March, the export level was highest, approximately 10 million, while in the months of July to September, export went down to 5 million boxes.
Although bananas are the main export product in the city, pineapples, papayas, mangoes and seafood are also exported. Between all of them 37,601 tons in general cargo and containerized were exported.
It was also known that 479 ships operating in international traffic and 60 tanker vessels arrived at the port. According to statistics cited by APPB in March, when exports increased, 47 vessels arrived in port; while in September, the month of lowest
demand, only 31 arrived.

In the same year light vehicles were imported from the Port of Hamburg, as well as
heads from the U.S., rolls of paper from China, apples and grapes from Chile and
California. Approximately 234 vehicles were imported, plus spare parts.
