Scientist looking to improve Kale

Two Scientists are working on a new sort of kale which should increase customer satisfaction with the product. Horticulture professor Philip Griffiths from Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, with the help of his graduate student, Hannah Swegarden, has begun research identifying colors, flavors, textures and leaf shapes, which consumers prefer, and is attempting to breed the beneficial traits.

He hopes to increase the appeal of the plant and he is looking for ways to make Kale more durable to disease and droughts.
