"More and more foodservice customers appreciate a year-round supply of soft fruit," says Sara Callegari, who is responsible for soft fruit at Frisco. "Blueberries, of course, have seen strong growth in recent years, but raspberries, redcurrants and even blackberries are now benefiting nicely from that trend."

Strawberries have also traditionally been an important product for Frisco. "For our customers, it is crucial to rely on a consistent and high-quality product. And that is perhaps even more important in soft fruit than in other product groups," Sara continues. "Our regular partner suppliers cover a large part of our programmes. They know exactly what our customers' requirements and expectations are."
"Especially with strawberries, you can see right now that demand is very strong, as overall European supply has dropped sharply while demand remains steady. It is therefore another challenge for Frisco to supply all our partners in Italy with the required volumes and quality."
