As market leaders, Projar have already spent years providing soil-less cultivation solutions that have helped thousands of companies improve their productivity and profitability.
Its presence at Fruit Logistica, one of the most important fairs in the sector worldwide, is a clear sign of the brand's commitment to international growth. Projar's arrival at Fruit Logistica was long overdue, and it has not been disappointing.

"I think everyone needed a return to normality and to attending fairs in person. In general, there is a feeling of optimism," says Alejandra Pintos, marketing director and agricultural engineer at Projar. "Agriculture has been one of the key sectors during the COVID pandemic. This has entailed a lot of exhausting work and a lot of frustration, and there is still uncertainty and logistical difficulties to deal with, but there is also optimism in the air and a desire to undertake new projects."
With regard to the supply difficulties due to international trade, "fortunately, we were able to react very quickly when we came across the first logistical problems. This allowed us to find solutions to reduce the impact on our customers," says Alejandra.
"Our coconut factories are located in Sri Lanka and India, but we have key storage and distribution points in Europe, Asia and America. That allows us to guarantee the supply to our customers every month. It's a challenging time, but we are working hard to minimize the impact of delivery delays."
"We are also working on projects to increase our production capacity in both the Iberian Peninsula and Sri Lanka.

Projar presented its latest developments at Fruit Logistica
After presenting its R&D developments in October at Fruit Attraction, Projar took its latest innovations to Fruit Logistica.
"At our stand we showcased the latest innovations in hydroponic growing systems for both berries and vegetables, which are working particularly well and are bringing us great satisfaction. One of the newest releases we presented was a 30-liter square pot which helps optimize the logistics, as it makes it possible to deliver more units per pallet, while also allowing improvements to keep the irrigation lines in their proper place during cultivation."
Increased productivity and profitability
Projar is currently present in more than 10 countries, where it is developing multiple projects. "In Peru, we have very interesting projects with the biggest players in the blueberry sector. In Eastern Europe, we are carrying out some strawberry cultivation projects, and we are also participating in medical cannabis projects in the various countries where this crop is cultivated."
"The soilless cultivation system is ideal to optimize water resources and the use of inputs. Furthermore, we offer a customized advisory service, AGRO+ Projar Support Solutions, with which it is possible to set up a fertigation strategy and monitoring with sensorization. We have achieved a 15% reduction in water and fertilizer consumption in a blueberry plantation in a region with limited access to irrigation water."
"Proper use of our soilless cultivation systems makes it possible to optimize production space and increase yields by up to 40%. This combination of reduced costs and increased production is the key to overcoming the challenges of our time."
Switching to soilless cultivation entails a "major" change in the production system, says Alejandra Pintos, "and involves a significant initial investment in materials compared to soil cultivation. But all our customers have increased their productivity by 50% in the first two years after the switch. This has allowed them to cover the implementation costs in a short period of time."
"There really are many success stories, and it is undoubtedly a step forward from which there is no turning back, as we are taking control of what happens in the root zone of the plant, which is of utmost importance for its vegetative and reproductive development."
