Statistical Institute of Belize:

Export revenues for 11 months of 2021 up 15-plus percent

The latest data from the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) shows that this nation’s export revenues increased by over 15 percent for the period January-November 2021, when compared to the same period in 2020.

Bananas are among the commodities that saw increased revenues. Banana exports were up by $4.4 million, from $80 million to $84.4. There were also a number of commodities that saw decreases in earnings, including citrus products which fell by just over $11 million from $46.9 million in 2020 to $35.9 million in 2021, which the SIB notes were due to an appreciable drop in exports of orange concentrate.
