First Cambodian fresh mango exports to China will get official reception

An official reception in honor of Cambodia’s first fresh mango shipment to China will be held on May 23. The inaugural, 100-ton shipment of Cambodian fresh mangos will arrives in China today, says Hun Lak, CEO of Rich Farm Asia, one of five companies approved to export the fruit to China.

The event is being held in cooperation with China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of International Cooperation, Ministry of Commerce and General of Administration of Customs. Lak added that the ceremony will be held at a fruit market in Beijing.

Cambodia announced the official shipment of fresh mangos to China on May 7. Five exporting companies were approved for shipping these goods. A total of 37 mango farms have been licensed as qualified for and compliant with the terms of China’s sanitary and phytosanitary standards.
