Early export Acoustic-potatoes from Israel to the European continent was successful"

Today’s world asks for robust and sustainable potato varieties.
Therefore, Meijer Potato introduces a new robust generation of varieties. In particular, the demand is rising for the promising table variety Acoustic:

  • It is adaptive to climate & soil, producing a high marketable yield.
  • Being late blight resistant, it’s suitable for both conventional and organic cultivation. Needing less pesticides and nitrogen, this variety can be grown with respect for nature.

Acoustic produces round oval and light-yellow skinned tubers, uniform in size with a nice skin finish. It’s a firm cooking, storage type potato with medium maturity, that’s well-suited to boiling and baking.

Acoustic volume by country
The map below shows to which countries Acoustic was delivered and will be grown in 2021. This indicates that it adapts to various climate and soil types. With the strategic introduction we are working on having a year-round supply to European retailers. Early export from Israel to the European continent was successful.

Early crop Acoustic
The early crop of Acoustic is now being harvested in Adana, Turkey. As the photo on the right shows, the harvest is good. This despite two occurrences of frost damage at the start of the cultivation. This also indicates that a robust potato variety such as Acoustic remains stable in various climates.
