Westfalia Fruit partners with food lovers market to bring meals to the vulnerable

Westfalia Fruit has once again partnered with Food Lover’s Market and FoodForward SA in South Africa to provide one million+ meals to the vulnerable this World Hunger Month. With every box of Westfalia avocados sold at Food Lover’s Market during May, one meal will be provided to a person in need.

The month-long in-store campaign is aimed at encouraging consumers to contribute a meal to FoodForward SA by purchasing partner products in any Food Lover’s Market nationwide. The much-needed contributions will go directly to feeding the vulnerable and bringing awareness to the challenges poverty-stricken South Africans face.

70% of households in South Africa’s informal settlements are in the unfortunate position that they have to skip meals because they can’t afford to buy the food they need to survive. That is why Food Lover’s Market and Westfalia Fruit, along with other partners, aim to reach and exceed 1 million meals through its easy “contribute a meal” mechanism.
