New Shine muscat brand launched in China

On November 22, a tasting event for Shine muscat grapes from South Korean took place in an Olé store in Guangzhou. This event was jointly organised by Olé Supermarkets, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation and Shenzhen Yiguo Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. During the event, grape lovers not only had the chance to taste the freshly launched UNI-VINE shine muscats, but also various beverages and desserts prepared by professional chefs using these grapes.

It is reported that the UNI-VINE brand launched at this tasting event was jointly created by Shenzhen Yiguo Agricultural Products and South Korea SG International. In August 2019, the two parties signed an agreement worth around 200 million yuan. According to the agreement, in the next 5 years, SG will export about 1,200 tons of shine muscats to the Chinese market, and Yiguo will use Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen as its main retail bases to supply large-scale retail channels such as Olé, bringing fresh high-quality fruit to Chinese consumers.

Opening ceremony

The shine muscats marketed under the brand of UNI-VINE are produced in Sangju, South Korea. The production season lasts from August to January, with November being the peak period of production and export. The growing partners and packaging factories have more than 20 years of experience in grape production and packaging, the entire growing process is carefully taken care of through manual care, and the products are flown via the cold chain directly to China. With a vibrant green color, firm grains, and distinctive fragrance, this variety is very popular among Chinese consumers.

According to Chinese customs, table grapes are the main category of Korean agricultural products approved to enter China, including shine muscat, kyoho and campbell early, of which shine muscat is the main imported product. Since being introduced to Olé one year ago, the variety has won praise and appreciation from Chinese consumers thanks to its sweet taste and excellent quality. It is expected that the import volume will increase rapidly in the future.
