Chinese fresh ginger granted entry to New Zealand

On December 20, 2019, the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries released new hygienic standards for imports of fresh ginger (Import Health Standards, IHS) for human consumption. The standards stipulate that from December 20, fresh ginger exports from Australia, China, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Thailand are allowed into the country. According to the new standards, only basic measures for pests and diseases need to be taken before exporting ginger from China, and there is no longer a need for export plans for fresh ginger. The final version of the import health standards can be found here
