Mexico: Avocado production in Tamaulipas will be promoted

The harvest will be promoted in five municipalities of Tamaulipas, announced Esteban Ruiz Lozoya, the state leader of the Emiliano Zapata organization.

To this end, they conducted scientific and technical studies that showed that the municipalities of Palmillas, Llera, Jaumave, Ciudad Victoria, and Altamira, have optimal conditions for planting this product.

"We have already planted it in Jaumave and Mante, and have programmed plantings in Palmillas and Altamira, and especially here with the support that we have had from the municipal president Xicotencatl Gonzalez Uresti, who is very interested in this," said Ruiz. In the state capital, he said, the avocado will be planted in a land located in the Ejido La Libertad in the first two months of this year.

"We wills soon install a floriculture greenhouse and start cultivating coffee in Llera and Jaumave; in Jaumave we already have some seedlings planted and we hope to continue advancing these crops little by little, especially the avocado crops," he said.
