This season, China's kiwifruit market is characterized by tight supply and improved quality. Despite the adverse effects of high temperatures, overall yield and quality have remained relatively stable thanks to standardized cultivation practices and the expansion of new production areas.

Manda, Sales Manager at Hunan Dream Of Fruit Agriculture Co., Ltd., explained, "This season's yield is tighter than last year, with the supply index in major producing regions only 84% of the same period last year. Green-fleshed kiwifruit has seen a notable drop in yield due to climate conditions and flowering period factors. In contrast, red-fleshed and yellow-fleshed varieties have performed more steadily. With continuous improvements in orchard management, the sugar content and texture of the fruit have increased—particularly among high-quality fruit, which is performing strongly in the high-end gift box market."
In terms of pricing, red- and yellow-fleshed kiwifruit have remained stable, while the green-fleshed variety has seen price increases due to yield reductions caused by earlier high temperatures. The current market price stands at ¥16 per kilogram.

Dream Of Fruit Agriculture currently focuses on the "Donghong" red-fleshed kiwifruit, known for its high sweetness, rich aroma, and creamy texture, making it a key product in high-end sales channels. The yellow-fleshed kiwifruit targets the daily consumer market, featuring golden flesh, a balanced sweet-sour flavor, and a refreshing taste. This year, the company also introduced a new yellow-fleshed variety, "Yanhuang No. 8." "This variety excels in its balance of sweetness and acidity and has a firm texture, while its price remains more competitive than imported brands," said Manda.

On the export front, the company has established a stable international sales network covering multiple countries and regions, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Canada. According to Manda, demand for yellow-fleshed kiwifruit in overseas markets currently exceeds that for other varieties.
In response to intensifying market competition, Dream Of Fruit Agriculture continues to strengthen quality control across the entire supply chain, from orchard management to distribution. "Our red and yellow kiwifruit come directly from our own farms, and every step, from cultivation to sorting, is strictly monitored," Manda explained. "We've developed a mature product portfolio for both red and yellow kiwifruit and maintain supply capacity through cold chain logistics and warehousing systems, enabling us to fulfill additional orders even during peak season. In terms of branding, we build consumer trust through standardized packaging, traceable origin labeling, and direct supply from farm to market."
