Kosovo Police seize 910 kg of smuggled mushrooms

Kosovo Police have reported the interception of a smuggling attempt involving approximately 910 kilograms of fresh champignon mushrooms in the border area of Karaqeva, within the municipality of Kamenica.

According to the official statement, the incident was identified by Patrol Units from the Border Surveillance Police Station (SPMK) – Muqivercë at around 11:45 am on Monday, August 12, 2025. "During the inspection of the vehicle, 910 kg of fresh champignon mushrooms were found," the announcement stated.

The mushrooms were being transported in a white van with local license plates, driven by a Kosovo citizen. Following consultation with the responsible prosecutor, authorities ordered the initiation of a case and the transfer of the goods to Kosovo Customs for further procedures.
