The 2025 Peruvian Hass avocado export season is progressing strongly. As of June, the country has exported 375,000 metric tons of Hass avocado, equivalent to 60% of the volume forecast for the season. "The quality of the fruit this year has been fundamental in sustaining constant demand in demanding markets like Europe, the United States, and Asia," stated José Antonio Castro, president of ProHass.

ProHass expects the country to export an additional 266,000 tons in the coming weeks, and the season to end in the third or fourth week of September. The pace of shipments will slow down due to the crop's natural seasonality, but will remain in line with commercial commitments.

Fruit quality has been great this year. "This season, the avocado has excellent firmness, good dry matter content, and adequate external presentation. Buyers from Europe, the United States, and Asia are aware of this. The fruit's performance is attributed to weather factors in the main producing areas, as well as technical management during cultivation and post-harvest," Castro said.

"Europe is the main destination, accounting for 61% of the total volume shipped up to week 25. Asia and the United States follow it with 14% each, Chile with 7%, and other markets in the American continent with 4%. Shipments to Europe are expected to end in week 38, while exports to other markets would end between weeks 34 and 36," he added.

"ProHass has collected weekly data from 43 exporting companies, responsible for 68% of the total volume. The goal is to provide accurate information to the actors of the agro-export chain and facilitate logistics planning. Having clear and updated figures is essential to avoid imbalances in supply and generate confidence in the different links of the market," Castro said.
