European Union Tree Nuts Annual

EU-27 imported $6.8 billion in tree nuts from the world in 2022

In 2022, the European Union (EU)-27 imported $6.8 billion in tree nuts from the world. The EU remains a net importer of tree nuts for all products since demand highly exceeds domestic production. The United States is the largest EU-27 tree nuts supplier, accounting for 39 percent of total imports, with $2.67 billion, up 7 percent compared to the previous year, despite total import value decreasing 4 percent from 2021.

However, manufacturers are developing creative products and packaging to attract new and traditional consumers.
