Since the beginning of the import of fruits and vegetables from China through the international checkpoint "Kani-Kurgan" (RF) - "Heihe" (PRC), 40 shipments of vegetables, fruits, and greens with a total weight of over 700 tons have arrived in the Amur Region. This became possible due to the fact that from January 30, Kani-Kurgan was included in the All-Russian list of border crossings through which the import of vegetables, fruits, and greens is allowed.
The first direct deliveries of fruit and vegetable products from China arrived in the Amur Region on February 11th. Carrots, cabbage, peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, fresh garlic, mushrooms, and ginger, which are in demand in the region, were delivered. Also imported are pineapples, kiwi, apples, pears, mangoes, strawberries, melons, tangerines, pomelo, and grapes. From green crops delivered celery, coriander, and lettuce.
The products have passed primary phytosanitary control. According to the results of laboratory studies, a quarantine pest was detected in two batches - brown wrinkle virus in tomato fruits, which worsens the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the yield of tomatoes and peppers. Infected batches of tomatoes were prohibited from release into free circulation.
