Peru’s export of fresh mangoes down -11% up to week 51, 2022

During weeks 40 to 51 of the 2022/2023 fresh mango campaign of Peru, its exports totalled an FOB value of $70.3 million, which represents a contraction of -11% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The main destination markets for this product were the Netherlands, the United States, South Korea and Spain. The United States ( +40% ) and Spain ( +8% ) increased their demand; while the Netherlands and South Korea contracted -25% and -39%.

The main exporting companies of this fruit in that period were: Sunshine Export SAC and Dominus SAC says David Sandoval from Fluctuante in Peru.

The contraction in Peruvian mangos is largely due to the impact of the nationwide riots during December last year. Due to roadblocks and protest action many workers were prevented from reaching farms and pack houses.
