Fruit Wholesale Market Report in Week 40

The arrivals of South African orange are low, and the price of Yunnan avocado falls

In October, as the variety and arrival of imported fruits are decreasing the flow of people and goods in the imported fruit trading area of the wholesale market has reduced significantly. Meanwhile, domestic apples, oranges, oranges, and mandarin are launched consecutively.

The price of South African oranges rose sharply this week, with limes and sweet oranges both rising by as much as 35%, while the originally more expensive northern South African oranges also increased by about 20%. It is reported that the recent lack of arrivals is the main reason for the price increase, and the high price has affected sales to a certain extent. In addition, the price of South African grapefruit has also recovered slightly recently due to the lack of arrivals, and sales have been quite smooth. The price of Australian oranges fell in late September and gradually recovered in the past two weeks. Some merchants said that the recently arrived Australian oranges tasted good.

Yunnan avocado

Yunnan avocado, which was launched in late September, has seen a marked increase in arrivals this week, with prices down about 30% from when they first went on sale. It is understood that the taste of the recent arrivals is better than earlier. The price of Peruvian avocado fell slightly from the previous two weeks, but not by much. Some merchants said that the recent cooler weather has had a certain impact on the sales of avocados. In addition, Chilean avocados have arrived and will soon take over Peruvian avocados. In addition to this, New Zealand avocado has a small number of arrivals.

Less Peruvian blueberries arrived this week and prices recovered slightly. Some merchants estimate that the arrival of blueberries will continue to decrease in the near future. It is estimated that the price may continue to rise slightly.

The arrival of durian from Vietnam has increased, and the price is generally flat, about 800-950 yuan/box according to different specifications. It is understood that the price of Vietnamese durian has risen to 1100-1150 yuan/box earlier, and then gradually declined. The price of Thai durian is about 1,000 yuan (the price is different for different brands), and there is no obvious price fluctuation due to the arrival of Vietnamese durian.

Domestic grapes include seedless red grape, black grape, sunshine rose, and the new "Queen Nina" red grape (near the end of the season). Merchants said that the market for grapes was sluggish and sales were not satisfactory. "Queen Nina" has a good ruddy appearance and large size, and the price is higher. But it is understood that the sales are not as good as expected.

Recently,  domestic red and black plums (that is, Angeleno plums) have been listed on the market and are sold at the same price as last year. But the current sales are not as good as last year. Grapefruit produced in Yunnan has been on the market for about a month and a half, and the sales have been relatively slow recently.
