The Peruvian province of Piura is the country's main producer of Kent mangoes. The region also produces other varieties of mangoes such as Edward, Ataulfo, Haden, and Keitt varieties; however, the Kent variety has the highest commercial performance. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, issued through Senasa, during the 2018/2019 campaign, the region produced 141,000 tons of mangoes in 28,109 hectares.
This product could be exported to 24 countries in the world as it complied with all export protocols requested by each importing country.
The main international destinations were Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dubai, New Zealand, Oman, Panama, China, South Korea, Japan, Spain, England, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Lebanon, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia, and Switzerland, among others.
