Russia interested in increasing agricultural imports from Morocco

According to a statement from the Russian Minister of Agriculture, the country is interested in increasing the import of Moroccan agricultural products, especially fruits and vegetables.

At the opening of the 4th Moroccan-Russian Business and Economy Forum, Alexander Tkachev described Morocco as the most promising market for Russian companies and products.

Tkachev pointed to the growth of trade between Moscow and Rabat, which in 2016 amounted to 1.3 billion dollars.

He held talks with his Moroccan counterpart Aziz Akhenouch in the framework of the economic forum to discuss means of enhancing Russian-Moroccan cooperation and possibilities of boosting trade between the two countries, followed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides on agricultural cooperation.
