Omani delegation visits Iran seeking to improve trade relations
An Omani trade delegation concluded a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which included meetings with officials and traders in the city of Jask, in the southern province of Hormozgan.
Headed by Khamis bin Abdullah al Farsi, director general of commerce at Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the delegation, which counted with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, as well as with a number of Omani entrepreneurs, held meetings with Iranian officials in order to explore investment and trade opportunities in the port city on the shore of the Oman Sea.
The two sides also discussed enhanced cooperation between the companies of the two countries’ private sectors, as reported by the Times of Oman. During the meeting, the Omani trade delegation met with Iranian traders in the agricultural sector. The goal is to enhance mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, all government requirements to facilitate the import and export of agricultural products were discussed, seeking also solutions to problems related to transportation and agricultural inspection.
