China: First fruit imports from Southeast Asia arrive at Taicang Port

Yesterday afternoon, 34.6 tons of Vietnamese dragon fruit from Ho Chi Minh Harbor arrived at Taicang Port on a cargo ship from Taicang Container Lines Co Ltd (TCLC). This was the first container of fruits from Southeast Asia to be imported directly through Taicang Port.

According to TCLC, there will be an estimated total of 1,200 tons of fruits from Southeast Asia entering China from Taicang Port this year. With Taicang Port being a designated port for imported fruits, a large distribution center of imported fruits from Southeast Asia will be built here, to supply the market in the southern part of Jiangsu Province.
