Prices for cucumbers in Kuwait increase by over 200%

Last month the Kuwait Times started a campaign to investigate the price changes of some basic commodities. Starting a month prior to Ramadan, the weekly campaign runs through June 2017.

The survey compares the prices per kilo of five different kinds of commodities sold at co-ops on a weekly basis. Comparing the price registered two weeks ago with the prices registered this week, the site noticed a significant increase in the price of cucumber from 275 fils in week three to 650 fils in week 4. Meanwhile, the price of tomatoes increased by nearly doubled from 250 fils to 420 fils.
