Kuwait sees cucumber price hike and tomatoes prices fall

The Kuwait Times launched a campaign a month before the advent of Ramadan to monitor changes in prices of some basic commodities. The survey compares the prices per kilogram of five different kinds of commodities sold at co-ops on a weekly basis.

These items are the most popular, whose prices usually hike during Ramadan including tomatoes, lemons and cucumbers and other products. Comparing prices two weeks ago with prices this week shows a significant increase in the price of cucumbers, and a drop in the price of tomatoes.

Cucumbers rose from 50 fils in week 1 and reached 275 fils by week 3. Tomatoes saw the price drop from 550 fils in week one to 250 fils in week 3.

1 fil = 3.30 USD
